We begin early, picking you up from your hotel between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. in a private, comfortable bus. Our first stops include the ancient funerary towers of Ninamarca (3,750 m) and the folkloric village of Paucartambo, home to a historic colonial bridge. From there, we ascend to Acjanaco Pass (4,000 m), the gateway to Manu National Park, before descending into the lush cloud forest. Here, we’ll take a guided walk to spot vibrant flora and wildlife, including the Peruvian Cock-of-the-Rock, trogons, quetzals, and with luck, the elusive Spectacled Bear. By afternoon, we reach Pilcopata (550 m), where we’ll settle into our traditional lodge with private bathrooms and hot showers.

After breakfast, we drive 45 minutes to the port of Atalaya (490 m.a.s.l.), where we board a motorized canoe for a scenic 30-minute ride down the river to Paititi Lodge. Along the way, keep an eye out for birds, monkeys, and more. After lunch, we visit Machuwasi Lake for a catamaran ride. It’s a chance to observe local wildlife such as hoatzins, monkeys, reptiles, caimans, and possibly capybaras. Later, you can opt for a night walk to explore the jungle after dark. We spend the night at Paititi Lodge, with private bathrooms and showers.
