Start your 2-day expedition by train to the famous citadel of Machupicchu, one of the “seven wonders of the World” An architectural jewel surrounded by cliffs, imposing mountains, and dense vegetation awaits you. Venture and immerse yourself in history through ancient rooms and corridors. Undoubtedly an experience of a lifetime!

Shared tour: Please note, that you may meet many people from other groups who booked the same tour activity with us and coincided with you on the same departure day and join us.
Meals included: 1 breakfast and 1 dinner. Including vegetarian and vegan options – just let us know in advance.
Accommodation: SOLO travelers joining group trips are paired in twins or a group in a multi-share dorm in a hostel/hotel with someone of the same sex for the duration of the activity.
Service level: Standard
We will pick you up at your hostel/hotel between 8:00 a.m. -8:30 am. After picking up all the travelers, we will continue on our bus to Chincheros (45 minutes) to one of the textile workshops, where the women of this community will teach us the traditional weaving and the original painting of all their alpaca wool fabrics.
Later we will go to the Raqchi viewpoint, which will take ten more minutes from Chincheros. Here, we will enjoy the spectacular view of the entire Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Then we will continue to Ollantaytambo. This bus trip will take us approximately 50 minutes to get there. Upon arrival, we can visit this ancient living Inca town (Optional, NO INCLUDED). Here, we will have the chance to try one of the ancient drinks in America, the famous drink of the Incas “Chicha de Jora” (fermented corn drink), depending on the day. Locals are still keeping the ancient tradition preparing it. This experience is due if there is any Chicheria open.
After the local experience, we will go to the train station, where we will take the train to Aguas Calientes. (1hr45min). Arriving at Aguas Calientes, our personnel will be waiting for you to take you to the Paititi hostel. Places where you will stay for a night.
By 6:30 pm, our Machu Picchu guide will pick you up at the hostel and take you to the restaurant (dinner included), where you will enjoy the dinner. After it, our guide will tell you the whole plan for the BIG day “VISIT MACHU PICCHU”
Finally came the big day, the ascent to the famous citadel. We will wake up early for a good breakfast and recharge energy, and after that, we will start our hike at 4.30 am to Machu Picchu. Once there, our guide will give you a guided tour inside the majestic citadel for 2 hours. After the tour, you will have free time to explore, take pictures or walk around the Sanctuary.
After enjoying the magic of Machu Picchu, we will return to Aguas Calientes around 12.30 pm to enjoy a delicious lunch. Once we have finished, we will get ready to go to the train station and take our train to Ollantaytambo (1hr 45min approx). Upon arrival, the bus that will take us back to Cusco will be waiting for us. Travel time 2hrs approx.
NOTE: The train departure will be according to the SCHEDULE available by the train company. It can vary depending on how early was purchased/booked your tour.
The drop-off will be at Plaza Regocijo, a place close to Plaza de Armas. We do this due the traffic in Cusco city at night is chaotic, and the arrival at your hostel door may take too much time. We hope you can understand.

VERY IMPORTANT
If you are traveling or plan to travel to Peru and visit Machu Picchu, during the high season (June – September) you should know that reserving a tour to the citadel at the last minute (days before departure or even weeks before) runs the risk of not get tickets for the desired day. Take your precautions, book in advance. We always recommend writing to our consultation numbers before booking.
If this were your case, we will accept your reservation and proceed to execute it, as indicated in our itinerary, only with the difference that the purchase of the entrance to Machu Picchu will be made in the town of Aguas Calientes in person (you). and we are our official guide assisting him all the time. TICKETS TO MACHU PICCHU: With reference to the purchase of tickets for those who do:
*𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑: 𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐁𝐘 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍: is more likely to be given by 2pm, if there are a lot of people. If not, maybe you stop at 10am or 11am (we don’t want to promise anything, we are honest and direct with this information). If it is about them.
*𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑: 𝟐𝐃𝟏𝐍 𝐁𝐘 𝐂𝐀𝐑 𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍; we will go with you as soon as you arrive to Aguas Calientes straight to buy it for the next day. Sometimes people get it the earliest tickets, sometimes not (8am – 10am). Normally it is for 8am or 11am.
Take into account that Peru Bucket List always offers the Classic / Principal (Llapta) entry regardless of the available time. If there is no availability, we will let you know and we will offer you the most similar one. Circuits (Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu) carries an extra payment on your part for the acquisition of these (+𝟭𝟮 $), the rest is covered by us.

𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍: Know that Peru Bucket List will always try to provide you with the best experience for your train trip, many times in high season, these tickets usually sell out very quickly and only give you the option of returning later than what our itinerary suggests. Sometimes there are seats that are released at the last minute and are resold by the train companies. If you get a train ticket whose departure is late and you want to change it, you are free to do so by going to the ticket office of the train company (the change will differ from availability), if there is any charge, it will be assumed by you. This usually occurs in very few cases, but it is good to know for any eventuality.
𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐌𝐒: Peru, like some Latin American countries, is not immune to some protests or strikes. You should know if it happens (road or train closure – blockade) Peru Bucket List will carry out a way to evacuate them and take them to safety (another option to return or continue), we want you to understand that this may lead to the service being affected (different) from what we promised at some beginning. (events that are beyond our control). If due to these social events you lose your train, Machu Picchu or bus ticket. We are afraid to tell you that we will not be able to make any refunds since these work on an administration other than ours. We recommend making any claim with them regarding tickets. Regarding the organization (transportation, accommodation, guidance, food) it will be a refund of 30% of the deduction of the remaining money used for the purchase of tickets.
