Itinerary

DAY 1Discovering the Market, Dancing with Dolphins, and Encountering Anacondas

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome, as we pick you up from the airport or your hotel. Our first stop is the bustling Bellavista Nanay Market, a vibrant hub of Amazonian life. Here, you’ll encounter the exotic flavors of the jungle—sample the tart sweetness of Aguaje (palm fruit), marvel at the adventurous delicacy Suri (edible weevil), and learn about the iconic Juane, a beloved regional dish. The colorful stalls brimming with Amazonian fish and tropical produce provide a fascinating introduction to the richness of the rainforest.

From the market, we’ll head to the pier, where our Amazon adventure begins. A traditional boat will carry us across the mighty Amazon River, the lifeblood of the rainforest and the world’s largest river. As we glide through its vast waters, you’ll be surrounded by the awe-inspiring beauty of the jungle—endless green canopies and the whispers of life hidden within. After a scenic 90-minute journey, we’ll arrive at your lodge, your serene retreat in the heart of the Amazon.

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with a refreshing glass of fresh, regional juice. After settling into your cozy accommodations, a delicious lunch of authentic Amazonian cuisine awaits, offering you a true taste of the jungle.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit a riverside family who has preserved their ancestral traditions. They’ll introduce you to some of the Amazon’s most iconic creatures: anacondas, sloths, turtles, and vividly colored birds like toucans and macaws. Next, we’ll sail along the river in search of the enchanting pink and gray dolphins, famed for their playful grace. You’ll even have the chance to dive into the Amazon’s refreshing waters and swim near these gentle creatures—an unforgettable moment.

As the day winds down, you’ll be treated to a spectacular sunset over the Amazon River, where the sky transforms into a canvas of fiery orange, pink, and purple. After dinner at the lodge, we’ll embark on an exhilarating night jungle hike. Experience the symphony of nocturnal life as you encounter fireflies, walking sticks, frogs, tarantulas, and more. The forest comes alive in a way that’s both thrilling and magical, a perfect way to end your first day.

DAY 2Sunrise Birdsong, Monkeys in the Wild, and Nighttime Adventures

The day begins at 5:30 AM with an early morning canoe ride on a serene blackwater lake. Dawn in the Amazon is a magical time, and you’ll witness the forest waking up as we search for colorful bird species like toucans, herons, and the unique prehistoric Hoatzin. This peaceful moment, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of nature, is sure to leave a lasting impression. Afterward, a hearty breakfast awaits back at the lodge.

Our next adventure takes us to Monkeys Island, a sanctuary where rescued primates thrive in their natural habitats. Here, you’ll encounter up to eight monkey species, including playful Spider Monkeys, curious Titi Monkeys, and tiny Pygmy Marmosets. This sanctuary, run by a dedicated local family, has been protecting and rehabilitating monkeys since 1997, offering you the opportunity to interact with these incredible creatures while supporting conservation efforts. You may also spot other wildlife, like sloths and dazzling macaws.

After a relaxing lunch at the lodge, we’ll venture out for an authentic Amazonian piranha fishing experience. Using traditional tools, you’ll have the chance to catch piranhas, catfish, and sardines in the river’s murky depths. It’s a fun and exciting way to connect with the region’s culture.

As night falls, prepare for another thrilling experience: a night canoe expedition. The darkness brings the jungle alive with mystery and wonder as we search for elusive creatures like alligators, electric eels, and nocturnal birds. Drifting silently on the water, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle at night, is a mesmerizing and unforgettable experience.

DAY 3Ancient Wisdom and Amazonian Wildlife

Our final day begins with an ethnobotanical walk through the dense jungle, an exploration of the rainforest’s natural pharmacy. Guided by expert knowledge, you’ll discover the medicinal secrets hidden within its plants and trees. Learn how indigenous communities have relied on these resources for centuries to heal and thrive.

As we walk, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife—monkeys, sloths, and a variety of birds, reptiles, and amphibians call this region home. You’ll also encounter towering trees that have stood as silent witnesses to the jungle’s ever-evolving story.

Returning to the lodge, enjoy a final Amazonian lunch before packing up for the journey back to Iquitos. As we sail along the Amazon River one last time, take a moment to soak in the unparalleled beauty of this remarkable place. We’ll drop you off at the airport or your hotel, marking the end of an adventure that will forever remain etched in your heart.
