Itinerary

DAY 1 WELCOME TO THE WILD AND NIGHTTIME ADVNETURES

Morning

  • Arrival in Puerto Maldonado: Your Amazon adventure begins the moment you touch down! Meet our friendly team, who will whisk you away to our base camp for a quick briefing before heading out into the wild.
  • Scenic River Journey: Hop aboard a motorized canoe and glide down the Madre de Dios River, a lifeline of the Amazon. For 40 magical minutes, take in the stunning jungle views, spot playful capybaras, and feel the excitement build as you head deeper into the rainforest.
  • Jungle Trek to Tambopata Reserve: Once we dock at Puerto Sandoval, set off on an hour-long trek through the tropical forest. Along the way, your guide will unravel the secrets of the jungle, from its rich biodiversity to its importance to the global ecosystem. Pass through the Tambopata checkpoint and watch as the secondary forest transitions into the awe-inspiring primary jungle.

Afternoon

  • Welcome to Lago Sandoval: Board a rowing boat and glide across a dreamy canal leading to the sparkling waters of Lago Sandoval. Upon arrival at your eco-lodge, you’ll be greeted with a refreshing tropical fruit soda and shown to your cozy accommodations.
  • Lunch and Relaxation: Enjoy a delicious Amazon-inspired meal, then kick back and soak in the serene jungle vibes.

Evening

  • Sunset Spectacle: As the golden hour approaches, embark on your first boat trip to watch the sun dip below the horizon in a blaze of color. Along the way, spot nocturnal creatures like night monkeys and bats as they begin to stir.
  • Dinner and Night Walk: After a mouthwatering dinner, grab your flashlight and join a thrilling night hike! Discover the hidden wonders of the jungle at night—giant tarantulas, glittering insects, and the mysterious sounds of nocturnal life will leave you awestruck. End the day with a sense of wonder as you drift off in your jungle retreat.

DAY 2 MAJESTIC TREES AND ICONIC WILDLIFE

Early Morning

  • Macaw Magic at the Palm Lick: Rise before dawn (4:30-5:00 AM) for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Visit a palm lick where flocks of vibrant macaws, parrots, and parakeets gather to feast on the nutrient-rich palms. Their colors and calls create a symphony of life that will stay with you forever.

Morning

  • Breakfast and Towering Trees Tour: Fuel up with a hearty breakfast, then board your boat for a journey to the rainforest giants. Marvel at trees over 200 years old and learn about medicinal plants used for centuries by local communities. Their stories are as rooted in the jungle as the trees themselves.

Afternoon

  • Swim and Seek Giant Otters: After a delicious lunch, unwind with a refreshing swim in the serene waters of Lago Sandoval. Then, venture out to find the playful and endangered giant river otters. These charismatic creatures are unbothered by human presence, giving you incredible opportunities for photos and up-close encounters.
  • Primate Parade and the Arapaima Spectacle: Keep your eyes peeled for five monkey species, from howler monkeys lounging in the treetops to squirrel monkeys darting between branches. As the sun sets, the legendary Arapaima fish surfaces with a dramatic splash, creating ripples that shimmer in the fading light.

Evening

  • Caiman Spotting and Starry Skies: After dinner, set out for a thrilling nocturnal boat ride. Search for the elusive black caiman, a powerful predator up to 4 meters long. Under the starlit Amazon sky, hear the symphony of nature and marvel at constellations mirrored in the still waters—a moment that will take your breath away.

DAY 3SUNRISE SERENETY AND FAREWELL

Early Morning

  • Last Sunrise on the Lake: Rise early one last time to soak in the tranquil beauty of Lago Sandoval. Watch as the jungle awakens, and take a leisurely walk to spot otters, birds, and other wildlife in their morning routines. Let the calm and beauty of the lake etch lasting memories into your heart.

Morning

  • Farewell Breakfast: Return to the lodge for a final breakfast, savoring the flavors of the Amazon one last time.

Midday

  • Journey Back to Puerto Maldonado: Say goodbye to the jungle as you head back via motorized canoe to Puerto Maldonado. From here, you’ll be transferred to the airport or your next destination, leaving you with incredible memories of this unforgettable Amazonian escape.
