2 Day Machu Picchu Train Tour from Cusco

No-Shows & Cancellations

Cancellations made 48 hours prior to the activity (before 4:00 PM – Peru time) will incur a 30% administrative fee, covering operational and logistical expenses.

Cancellations made 24 hours prior will incur a 45% administrative fee.

Cancellations made after this period, as well as no-shows, are subject to a 100% cancellation fee.

Please note that Machu Picchu entrance tickets are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable, with no exceptions.

Should you require documentation for insurance purposes, we will gladly provide an official letter to support your claim for reimbursement of eligible expenses.

Regarding train tickets, any request for refund or rescheduling must be processed directly by the passenger at the corresponding train company office. Such procedures are subject to the train operator’s policies, availability, and potential fare differences or additional charges. Peru Bucket List assumes no responsibility for surcharges imposed by third-party providers.

Changes

Any request to modify the tour date must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM (Peru time), two (2) days prior to the scheduled tour date.

Please note that any date change is also subject to the availability of a new Machu Picchu entrance ticket. Entrance tickets are non-modifiable once issued, in accordance with regulations and conditions established by the Peruvian government.

Additionally, train services are subject to availability. Any changes may incur additional fees imposed by the private train operators.

Group Size:
Minimum of 1 and a maximum of 8 participants per group, ensuring a personalized and intimate experience.

Difficulty Level:
Easy. The tour involves moderate walking within Machu Picchu, suitable for most travelers, including families and seniors.

Altitude Range:
The tour operates between approximately 2,050 meters (Ollantaytambo) and 3,000 meters (Cusco) above sea level. Machu Picchu itself is located at 2,430 meters (7,970 feet) above sea level, so participants should be aware of moderate altitude changes during the day.

Acclimatization:
Participants are strongly advised to spend at least one full day in Cusco prior to the tour to adjust to high altitude and enjoy the experience comfortably.

Shared Service:
This is a shared tour experience. You may be joined by other travelers booking the same program, creating a diverse and social group environment.

Meals Included:
This tour includes breakfast on the second day before departing for Machu Picchu. For meals in Aguas Calientes, you can use cash or credit card; please note that credit cards may incur a 5% surcharge. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available upon request.

Accommodation:
This excursion includes accommodation in Aguas Calientes. A comfortable and decent room.

Service Level:
This program operates under a Standard Service category, offering comfortable and reliable amenities for a smooth, enjoyable experience.

Pick-up & Drop-off Services:
Hotel pickup is available within Cusco downtown area. If you are staying outside this zone, an alternative pick-up point will be coordinated in advance. Return transportation to your accommodation is included at the conclusion of the tour.

Itinerary Modifications:
The itinerary may change due to weather, operational considerations, public disturbances, or other unforeseen circumstances. Any additional expenses resulting from itinerary changes are the responsibility of the traveler.

Train Departure Time:
Subject to availability at the time of booking. We recommend reserving early to secure preferred times.

Machu Picchu Citadel Entrance Tickets:
Availability is limited and tickets must be booked in advance. We strongly advise confirming entry ticket availability prior to finalizing your tour reservation.

Peru Bucket List will purchase train tickets in the traveler’s name, subject to availability at the time of purchase. Please note that train schedules and availability may change as the travel date approaches.

Any modifications or changes after ticket issuance must be arranged directly with the corresponding railway company and may incur additional fees. These charges and conditions are determined solely by the train operator and are beyond our control.

Peru Bucket List is not responsible for any changes, fees, or policies imposed by the railway company. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility regarding these external procedures.

Where a refund is applicable:

• Refunds will be processed exclusively through the original booking platform or via PayPal.

• Clients acknowledge that third-party platforms (including payment gateways and booking systems) may apply transaction or processing fees.

• Peru Bucket List is not responsible for, nor does it assume, any additional charges, currency exchange differences, or transaction fees imposed by such platforms.

Additionally, all approved refunds are subject to a 22% administrative and tax processing fee, which will be deducted from the refundable amount.

By confirming a reservation, the client expressly accepts these conditions and any associated deductions.
