Altitude Range:
The tour operates between 2,050 m (6,726 ft) in Ollantaytambo and 3,400 m (11,152 ft) in Cusco. Machu Picchu is located at 2,430 m (7,970 ft) above sea level. While altitude is generally moderate during the visit, some travelers may experience mild altitude effects in Cusco.

Acclimatization:
We strongly recommend spending at least one full day in Cusco before your Machu Picchu Train Tour to help your body adjust to the altitude and enjoy the experience more comfortably.

Meals Included:
Meals are not included. Due to the early departure, we recommend having a light breakfast before pickup. You’ll have free time to enjoy lunch in Aguas Calientes, where a wide variety of restaurants are available. Both cash and credit cards are accepted, although some establishments may charge an additional 5% card processing fee. Vegetarian and vegan options are widely available.

This is a day tour, so accommodation is not included.

Pick-up & Drop-off Services:
Hotel pickup and return are included for accommodations located within Cusco’s historic center. If you’re staying outside the pickup area, we’ll arrange the nearest convenient meeting point before your tour.

Itinerary Modifications:
The itinerary may be adjusted due to weather conditions, operational requirements, train schedules, government regulations, or other unforeseen circumstances. Any additional expenses resulting from these changes are the responsibility of the traveler.

Train Departure Time:
Train departure and return times are assigned according to availability at the time of booking. We recommend reserving as early as possible to secure your preferred schedule.

Machu Picchu Citadel Entrance Tickets:
Official Machu Picchu entrance tickets are subject to government-controlled availability, including the assigned entry circuit and entry time. During high season, tickets often sell out weeks in advance. We strongly recommend booking early to secure your preferred travel date and avoid disappointment.

Passport Requirement
You must present the same original passport used when booking your tour to board the train and enter Machu Picchu. Photocopies or digital copies are not accepted

Luggage Policy
Only a small backpack is permitted on the train and inside Machu Picchu. We recommend bringing only essential personal belongings for a more comfortable experience.

Departure schedules, train category, and seating assignments are determined by the railway operator. We recommend booking well in advance to maximize the chances of obtaining your preferred schedule.

Once train tickets have been issued, any modification, cancellation, or schedule change must comply with the railway company’s policies and may incur additional charges determined exclusively by the operator.

Where a refund is applicable:

Approved refunds are subject to a 22% administrative and tax processing fee, which will be deducted from the refundable amount.
