Terms & Conditions

PBL T&C

Thank you for choosing us as your travel agency for this incredible trek/tour. Before you embark on your adventure through the Peruvian Andes to Machu Picchu, we’d like to share some essential information about our country to help you prepare.

About Peru

Peru is a megadiverse country with a rugged landscape and a wide range of microclimates. It is divided into three distinct regions:

  • Coast (10%) – Primarily desert, with warm temperatures.
  • Andes (26%) – A mountainous region with high altitudes and varying weather conditions.
  • Amazon (64%) – A vast jungle with humid and tropical climates.

Due to this diversity, traveling in Peru can be an unpredictable yet unforgettable experience. Weather conditions can change drastically—one moment it may be cold, and the next, extremely hot. Rain can last all day or not occur at all. We share this information so you can take the necessary precautions before your journey begins.

Important Considerations

Exploring Peru, especially the Andean region like Cusco, requires flexibility, patience, a positive attitude, and understanding. Access to certain remote locations can be challenging, and conditions may not always be as expected. We encourage you to carefully read the following statements to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Let us know if you need any assistance. We’re here to make your adventure unforgettable!

NATURAL DISASTERS / STRIKES /SOCIAL PROBLEMS

At Peru Bucket List SAC, we operate in regions where the standards of accommodation, transportation, and basic services may differ from those in your home country. Due to Peru’s diverse and unpredictable terrain, natural events such as landslides and floods can occur. Additionally, social conflicts—including strikes and protests—may impact travel plans.

While these circumstances are beyond our control, we are committed to providing the best possible experience for our travelers. Our team applies careful planning, skill, and expertise to minimize disruptions. However, should unforeseen events require itinerary changes, we ask for your understanding. Any modifications will always be made with your safety and well-being as our top priority.

By booking any trek or tour to Machu Picchu with Peru Bucket List SAC, you acknowledge and accept that necessary changes may be made without prior notice. In such cases, any additional expenses incurred will be your responsibility.

As in many South American countries, Peru experiences periodic social movements related to religion, culture, politics, and economics, which may affect travel. Given these factors, we encourage all travelers to remain flexible and prepared for any unexpected developments.

Your safety and satisfaction are our main priorities, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding

Should an early departure be necessary, additional expenses for accommodation, food, or other costs may arise depending on the situation and location. (Applicable in Case of Strikes, Natural Disasters, or Social Issues)

Train Tickets

If unforeseen events such as strikes, natural disasters, or social conflicts occur, any pre-purchased train tickets will be non-refundable and non-transferable. Upon receiving your reservation and payment, Peru Bucket List SAC immediately purchases your train tickets (via Peru Rail or Inca Rail) and Machu Picchu entrance tickets (through the Ministry of Culture) in your name. These tickets are issued exclusively for you as the sole user, making you responsible for presenting them at the designated time.

Please note that we cannot guarantee or facilitate changes to these tickets. If you wish to modify your train schedule, you must do so in person at the respective office, subject to availability and potential surcharges.

In the event of unexpected disruptions due to natural disasters, strikes, or social conflicts, your Machu Picchu entrance ticket may be lost without the possibility of a refund or rescheduling. Neither Peru Bucket List SAC nor the Ministry of Culture offers date changes or reimbursements for unused tickets.

If you wish to visit Machu Picchu on a different date, you must purchase a new ticket in person at the Ministry of Culture office, presenting your original passport.

Accommodation & Food

If an unforeseen event requires the tour to pause or be canceled and travelers must extend their stay for safety reasons, Peru Bucket List SAC will cover accommodation and meals only for the originally contracted tour or trek duration.

Once the contracted period ends, any additional expenses for lodging, food, or other necessities will be the traveler’s sole responsibility. As these events are beyond our control, Peru Bucket List SAC cannot be held responsible for any additional costs incurred. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility in these situations.

You agree to be aware of and release Peru Bucket List from any liability, reimbursement, expense or inconvenience or generated by this unfortunate situation.

At Peru Bucket List SAC, once your reservation and payment are confirmed, we will immediately purchase your Machu Picchu entrance ticket using the personal information you provide. If any errors in your details result in issues at the entrance, you will be responsible for purchasing a new ticket at your own expense.

Machu Picchu Entry & Circuits

We will always strive to secure a classic circuit ticket (Llapta Machu Picchu – Circuit 2) for you, provided that reservations are made well in advance and availability allows. If this option is unavailable due to timing or limited slots, you will receive an alternative ticket for:

  • Ruta 1-A: Ruta Montaña Machu Picchu. No guided tour
  • Ruta 1-B: Ruta terraza superior. No guided tour

Machu Picchu & Huayna Picchu Mountain Hikes

If your itinerary includes Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu Mountain, please note that these trails are self-guided, meaning you will need to complete the hike independently without a guide.

Tour Scheduling & Group Coordination

We always aim to secure early morning entry tickets to enhance your experience, allowing you to witness the sunrise over Machu Picchu. However, due to ticketing constraints, it is possible that members of the same group may receive different entry times or circuits.

  • If your ticket does not match the guide’s schedule or circuit, you agree to explore Machu Picchu independently or with others holding the same ticket type and entry time.
  • The guide will only conduct the tour for travelers whose entry time and circuit match the scheduled Llapta Machu Picchu (Circuit 2) tour.

By booking with Peru Bucket List SAC, you acknowledge and waive any claims for refunds or compensation if you do not receive the full 2-hour guided service as outlined in the itinerary.

Understanding Guide Availability

Our guides are experienced professionals who, after completing tours in Machu Picchu, must return home to rest before leading new treks. Due to a limited number of specialized guides, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding in these situations.

We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to providing you with an unforgettable experience at Machu Picchu!

TREK OR TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU DURING THE HIGH SEASON / NOT FINDING TICKETS ON THE OFFICIAL PLATFORM IN THE LAST MINUTE

The organization of the trek during the high season (Jun – Sep), is usually very intense for all of us who operate this trek, we recommend you always book in advance so that you may not have many inconveniences or anger. Here we inform you about some cases that usually happen and you must be prepared.

If you plan to do the hike, during the high season (June – September) or if you have not found availability on the official site. You should know that booking a trek to the citadel at the last minute (days before departure or even weeks before) runs the risk of not getting tickets for the desired day or preference. NO WORRIES ABOUT IT, there is always 100% of possibilities to get the entrances, you only need to be patient.

Take your precautions, book in advance. We always recommend writing to our numbers and checking availability before making a reservation. We can advise you which would be the best option.

If you already booked the tour/trek to Machu Picchu and there is no availability for the requested visiting, we will accept your reservation and proceed to execute it, as indicated in our itinerary. We will minus (40 USD) of the total amount of the service (by train or bus). This money will be used to purchase the entrance to the citadel in the town of Aguas Calientes as soon as you arrive in person (by yourself) and no one else.

Keep in mind that this whole process takes time, consider that you may have to stay one more day / night in the town of Aguas Calientes. This usually happens due to the large influx of foreign and local travelers who left the purchase of their trekking or entrance to Machu Picchu until the last minute. In addition to the reduction of entrances to the citadel by the government, following UNESCO recommendations.

You also must consider that you will have to get up very early to line up in front of the office in charge on duty (Police or government office) and be registered by the authorities. All this can take a long time, be patient, you will get your ticket. To do this, you must bring a copy of your physical passport. Once registered you must return the day, time of purchase of your ticket, sometimes it is usually quick or other times it usually takes 2 days. Finger crossed.

You agree to be aware of and release Peru Bucket List from any liability, reimbursement, expense (food and accommodation, etc) or inconvenience generated by this unfortunate situation,

This situation is the responsibility of the administrative authorities of the Peruvian government. We only make known and anticipate every traveler in time. 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄.

MACHU PICCHU ENTRANCE “LLAPTA MACHU PCCHU”

DIFFERENT CIRCUITS

We, Peru Bucket List, offer the classic ticket “Llapta Machu Picchu + Circuit 1 or 2” if travelers book in advance, or if there is availability on the official site. If there is not, there are 2 options to consider depending on your case, please read the information below.

If it were your case:

If you book through the website, and you don’t check availability (May – Oct) and I still made the reservation. If there is no availability on the official page (website), the company will make a refund of 40 USD for the purchase of the ticket in Aguas Calientes to the same traveler, if a different ticket is found (higher cost), the traveler must assume the difference .

If you book at some of our offices, the traveler will receive a discount of 40 USD from the total amount of the tour/trek, this money will be used by the traveler to purchase their ticket in Aguas Calientes upon immediate arrival, if they find a different entrance. (higher cost), the traveler must assume the difference.

We recommend booking in advance and keeping flexibility in your itinerary to ensure a smooth, hassle-free experience.

RETURN TO CUSCO BY BUS

If you plan to return to Cusco by bus after your tour or trek to Machu Picchu, review these key details to ensure a smooth trip:

Optimize your visit to Machu Picchu

  • Book your entrance early, ideally by 6:00 AM, which will allow you to explore the citadel at a leisurely pace (maximum recommended time: 2 hours).
  • Avoid Circuit 1 – Machu Picchu Mountain, as the 3-hour hike up + 3-hour hike down will significantly reduce your return time.
  • Timely return to Aguas Calientes

To be on time for your bus back to Cusco:

  • Return to Aguas Calientes no later than 11:00 AM. This will allow you to make the 3-hour hike to the Hydroelectric Plant.
  • The bus departs at 2:00 PM and arrives in Cusco between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, depending on traffic and weather.

If you don’t have your entrance ticket in advance, if you need to purchase your ticket in Aguas Calientes, consider:

  • Availability may vary depending on the season.
  • The purchase process may take longer due to high visitor numbers.

If the ticket you purchase doesn’t allow you to return to Aguas Calientes before 11:00 AM, you should consider:

  • Staying an extra night in Aguas Calientes and taking the bus the next day.
  • Buying a last-minute train ticket, which can be expensive and is subject to availability.

Important reminder: By booking with Peru Bucket List SAC, you agree to:

  • Cover any additional expenses resulting from changes in schedules or ticket availability.
  • Exempt Peru Bucket List SAC from any refunds or claims due to these circumstances.

🎯 Plan ahead for a worry-free trip. Always have a Plan B to avoid unforeseen events and enjoy your experience stress-free.
